THERE ARE OVER 1 MILLION ELDERLY AND SICK PEOPLE IN ISRAEL– ALONE, FACING TERROR, FEAR, AND UNCERTAINTY.

WE OWE THESE PEOPLE SUPPORT AND REASSURANCE IN THESE TERRIFYING TIMES.

Welcome to

Bridge of Hearts

Bridge of Hearts is a new Florida not-for-profit that has teamed up with Gisha L’Chaim (Life’s Door), an established Israeli not-for-profit, so that American Jews may directly connect with lonely and anxious elderly Israelis.

There are over a million elderly Israelis who are now more isolated than ever. For many, their professional caregivers have returned to their countries of origin. Family members are involved in the war effort and have less time to be a support. Some of the family caregivers are soldiers, and almost all Israelis, if not in the IDF, are busy helping elsewhere and have less time to care-give. For the elderly, there is increased loneliness and anxiety caused by the war.

Bridge of Hearts aims to bridge these gaps and align US based volunteers with Israeli citizens who welcome their support and outreach in these terrifying times.

Become A Volunteer

Bridge of Hearts is recruiting and connecting volunteers to make outreach phone or video calls to seniors in need. Gisha L’Chaim has identified elderly Israelis who will benefit from these calls and who speak the same language as our volunteers. As a volunteer, you will be able to say “Hineini. הנני I am here!” to offer reassurance, support and hope.
To volunteer:
(1) Inform your participating organization;
(2) Sign up for the training conducted by Gisha L’Chaim from Israel (you will receive a call to schedule);
(3) make at least one call a week as instructed by the training.
